Chutneys are actually really easy to make - the key is balancing sweet and tangy!
Cherry & Almond are our perfect pairing in this one and these flavors are enhanced by several aromatic spices that will make your house smell amazing! This chutney is great over chicken and pork, or try including on your next charcuterie board!
Spiced Cherry Almond Chutney
1 hour total (40 minutes cook • 20 minutes prep)
Ingredients
- 3 cups fresh or frozen cherries, pitted and halved
- 1 green bell pepper, diced
- 1 red bell pepper, diced
- 1 small sweet onion, diced
- 6 tbsp brown sugar
- 1/4 cup Almond Creme White Balsamic
- 1 tablespoon chopped crystallized ginger
- 1/2 teaspoon orange zest
- 4 allspice berries
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cardamom
- 1/4 teaspoon korean chile flakes
Instructions
Combine all ingredients in a medium pot and cook over medium-low heat for 30-40 minutes stirring occasionally until cherries and veggies are softened and mixture has thickened to nearly a jam consistency. Remove allspice berries and refrigerate until ready to use.
