Maple Cinnamon Blondies
Blondies are basically a rich non-chocolate brownie and there's nothing not to like about these!
Try our Maple Cinnamon Blondies - we're doubling down on the cinnamon flavor by using both Tree Juice Cinnamon Maple Syrup AND ground cinnamon. These blondies are soft and will melt in your mouth. What takes them over the top is the cinnamon sugar crust! You add butter and cinnamon sugar to the top of the blondies right after they come out the oven - the sugar melts juuuuuust enough to create a bit of a crunchy sugar topping!
- BLONDIES:
- 2 cups all purpose flour
- 1 tbsp ground Korintje Cinnamon
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup butter, melted
- 1/2 cup Vanilla Extra Virgin Olive Oil
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 2 eggs
- 1 cup light brown sugar
- 1/2 cup Tree Juice Cinnamon Maple Syrup
- GLAZE
- 2 tablespoons melted butter
- 2 tablespoons granulated white sugar
- 1 teaspoon ground Korintje Cinnamon
- 1 teaspoon salt
Preheat oven to 350F. Grease a 9x9 pan with butter; set aside.
In a small bowl, mix flour, cinnamon, baking powder and salt. In a medium bowl, mix melted butter, Vanilla EVOO, Cinnamon Maple Syrup, and light brown sugar. Whisk in eggs and vanilla extract until fully incorporated. Add the flour mixture and stir just until the flour has disappeared.
Pour into greased 9x9 pan and bake for 30-35 minutes - top will be firm to the touch, cut into center with the tip of a knife to make sure center is not wet but it will still be soft.
While the blondies are baking, mix sugar, cinnamon and salt in a small bowl. After blondies are removed from the oven, brush the top with melted butter and spread the sugar mixture evenly across the top. Let cool for at least an hour then cut into squares and serve.
If you don't have Cinnamon Maple Syrup, you can use regular maple syrup and increase the ground cinnamon to 1 ½ tablespoons. But try to find a cinnamon if you can, it just gives a richer note of flavor - we highly recommend the brand Tree Juice!
