Nothing beats fresh cherries, especially in the summer! I'm a sucker for anything with fresh cherries and wanted a frozen dessert so I could enjoy the flavor anytime.
This sorbet uses our Almond Creme White Balsamic to really help amp up the cherry flavor. So refreshing on a hot summer day!
- 2 cups fresh cherries, pitted and halved
- 1 cup water
- 3/4 cup + 2 tablespoons granulated sugar
- 2 tablespoons Almond Creme White Balsamic
- 1 teaspoon lemon juice
In a medium saucepan, cook the cherries over moderate heat with the water, sugar and lemon juice for about 10-15 minutes, until the cherries are very soft. Remove from heat and let cool.
Add the Almond Creme White Balsamic to the cherry mixture and puree until smooth. Chill and then freeze it in your ice cream maker according to the manufacturer's instructions.
Makes about 1 Quart
Turn this into a cherry daiquiri by blending with white or coconut rum and some lime juice!
